Forgot to mention, Got into my room last night, waking some poor person up that was fast asleep. My bad, he is all fine about it today though :)
Got up around 10:30am this morning and realised the first thing i forgot to pack... a towel!
Thats alright, gives me an excuse to get into town earlier.
Decided i would stick to my habits and did a morning ab workout before going (determined to not get fat over here!)
Walked out side and was blown away by what i saw. Pretty much 360 degree views of mountains! (see pics below) What a beautiful area.
It appears that no one here uses snow chains, so it worried me slightly when the bus pulled up and locked up and slid about a metre when braking haha.
Ended up getting some necessities in town and opening a bank account, have to find my way over to Canmore to get my SIN. I think im going to start looking at picking up a cheap car... Public transport is still no where near my preferred method of transport...
I have decided im going to try getting a job at a nice hotel like the fairmont springs banff, maybe night reception or something, accommodation included :P - Banff Springs
Other than that i walked into a restaurant/bar named Earls and asked about being a bartender/server. Have a meeting with the Boss on Thursday, so could be a good start.
Will probably take what job i can get for the first few weeks just to have some income.
Cannot start a job till i get my SIN number tomorrow. But will be good. Seems to be lots of places i could potentially work if i had to, if all else fails i can work days to be up and running then work on night work.
I do my CASI level 1 (Canadian snowboard instructor cert) on Friday through till Sunday. This will be my first time out on the snow here as i dont think i will get time before then. Very exciting! Cannot wait to see the slopes here!
Hope all is going well back in Aus, I am not envious of the hot weather there at all! I am very much enjoying this temperature and walking around in jeans and a jacket today.
Well i am off to do some online job hunting and looking for some cheap used cars, Apparently i can drive for 90 days on my license so thats pretty sweet :) Hopefully i can find a reliable (read not an Alfa - Carly :P) car for under $1000.
THis is the ice climbing wall they have setup at the hostel here
View just outside my hostel
In town

you should definitely get an alfa...

great place, looks really cute! how exciting! I'm envious of the cold - love the snow xx
You should check out Craigslist it has pretty much everything for really cheap. It's a website in the US and Canada, and you can find jobs, apartments and cars and anything really! Google it! I'm so jealous of the snow! Have fun!
